On the build side,\u00a0you can write your own bots<\/a>\u00a0from scratch, provided you\u2019ve got the right people and budget in place. On the buy side, there\u2019s a burgeoning marketplace of commercial software vendors offering RPA in various flavors, as well as overlapping technologies. (Some market themselves under different but related terms like \u201cintelligent automation.\u201d)<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In fact,\u00a0Gartner<\/a>\u00a0previously called RPA the\u00a0fastest-growing<\/a>\u00a0enterprise software segment of 2018, with 63 percent growth in worldwide revenues. It\u2019s a competitive market, too \u2013 you\u2019ve got options. Moreover, commercial RPA vendors have generally made a point to prioritize ease of use, in the hopes of enabling non-developers to be able to create and deploy bots without a ton of technical overhead.
