Thanks in no small part to the arrival of sophisticated smartphones and tablets over the last decade, even your grandparents probably know which apps they like most and which ones they find troublesome to use. But, functionality notwithstanding, pretty much everyone knows what an \u2018app\u2019 is.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

So given that yardstick and the ubiquity of apps that circle around us, how many of us know what an enterprise application<\/strong> is?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

No Angry Birds<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Firstly let\u2019s deal with the obvious, that is – an enterprise application<\/strong> is clearly an app that you might use at work, in an enterprise, obviously. It\u2019s not Angry Birds, Candy Crush Saga or Pok\u00e9mon Go.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Second, let\u2019s appreciate the fact that there are non-enterprise application<\/strong>s that have graduated and progressed into some form of enterprise usage (such as Twitter or Facebook), where a commercial use case of the application<\/strong>\u2019s core function has evolved.
