How to choose the right document management system

Paragraph four of this article sums it up for me.  It is what evangelize on with every prospect I meet with.  Employing a Document Management system is not simply about capture, store and retrieve.  Sure collaboration, anywhere access and the like are great but those functions alone miss the much larger point.

Improving efficiency and productivity while meeting goals and deadlines is about automating and monitoring the tasks and processes around those documents you are storing.  Workflow and RPA (low code/no code) are the keys to introducing this level of automation into your business.  And, you do not need to be a professional developer but simply a logical thinker to have a meaningful impact with these tools.  Couple this with legacy application integration and now you’ve really go something to grow with.
